The Dark Days

A generic picture of cool lights on a bridge! Whoop dee doo! I can hear all the critiques! But! I posted this picture for a reason.

This picture was taken at 7,46 PM on Cambie Bridge. Dark eh? Well something I never really thought about growing up in Canada was the solstice that takes place bi-annually. In Sweden at least, the summer solstice is a total gong show that takes place during the, you guessed it, summer. Basically it’s an all-night party and the sun blazes almost 24 hours (depending where you are).

So, the darkness. Well December 21st / 22nd is the winter solstice. What does that mean? Well it’s going to get darker and darker and darker and the nights will get longer and longer and longer until that point. Then, just as your about to count your chickens before they hatch, it’s time to start eyeing up the longer days when that special day hits in December!

Riveting stuff eh ;) ?
