Swedish Christmas Food | Julbordet

I’m officially going back to Vancouver a fat mess. No joke. All I’ve done is eat the last four days and I’m like a gluttoned pig.

Back home for Christmas, we devour turkey that my ma’ fires up with some killer gravy. The turkeys are usually ones that my parents raise themselves and those suckers get to about 40 pounds. Ever seen a 40 pound turkey run around without a head? It’s some wild shit. Totally worth it though because they taste great. Anyways, that’s how we roll back at home, and it’s some awesome cookin’.

Here’s a little different, and I’ve gotta’ say that it’s been more then worth it to become this disgusting pig, because the food here has been spectacular. It’s seafood seafood seafood as you may expect from a ‘viking culture’. Smoked salmon, sil, cavier – the works. And that’s right up my alley.

So, here are some pictures of the julbord (Christmas table) feast that has finally been devoured completely. It took four days, but it’s pretty much all gone.

While this is nice and all, nothing beats my moms gravy. Not even close!

The pictures are stunning and the food is in the same category. Achieving that look and feel is difficult to say the least in the pictures and you pulled it off magnificently. Loved it.

Jesus George thank you! I’m blushing here eh! I guess I was lucky to have the food available to 1) Devour and 2) Take a couple cool pics of! Thanks again George!

Mom – Just boiled eggs actually! Some were served with shrimp and caviar and some with this ‘paste’ type stuff that is kind of like caviar too. Your deviled eggs though – argggggg – can’t wait to have those again soon!!!!!
