Left Behind

June 24, 2010

I’m not really a big fan of putting pictures of myself up on this thing, but I thought this picture was pretty funny.

Not the picture itself, but why I was taking it and what happened next.

Long story short, Jakob and I were photographing a wedding. Things were going just peachy, and as we normally do, I was with the groom and Jakob was with the bride during the preparations.

So, the groom and his folks are ready to roll. Everyone’s dressed and a bit nervous for the wedding that is penciled in to commence in 30 minutes or so.

I figured it was time for a few minutes of privacy for the groom and his parents, so I darted downstairs to scope out whether or not there’d be anything interesting to take pictures of as the groom was about to leave. This picture of the mirror had potential, so that is why I was doing what you see below.

What I didn’t realize was the communication channels of the logistics had been, well, mis-communicated. While I was buggering around waiting for my ride, turns out everyone had jumped ship and left for the wedding. Sans Cole.

The people in the cab thought I was with the parents and groom in the car. The parents and the groom thought I was with the friends in the cab. I thought they were having some sort of pre-game séance that was just taking a little longer then expected.

Anyways, it all worked out in the end. Perfectly, actually. The wedding pictures look great so far, and Jakob and myself are looking forward to having them posted soon on the Nordica site.

But a quick tip for all you kids out there: Get your logistics figured out or you’ll end up taking pictures of yourself in a hallway.
