Allan Cole Roberts bio picture

About

My name is Allan Cole Roberts, but 99.9% of the time, I'm refered to as Cole. Photography is something I have always been involved with, and that is due mostly to my mother, April. She's a heck of a photographer and is the one who planted the bug in my ear to pursue it as a profession.

People are my favourite muses, and I primarily do portrait photography. Along with this, I do weddings and commercial photography.

I am based out of Vancouver although I am a travel nut and don't mind taking jobs on that invovle hitting the road. My partner for projects is Jakob Granqvist, so if you book me for anything, then you'll get the both of us snapping away pictures. He looks like Brad Pitt, so he's a good guy to have along.

Equipment-wise, I'm a Nikon fan. Outside of photography, I'm a hockey fella' who had an interesting junior career and was suitcased all over the place. After hockey, I completed a masters degree in business over in Sweden, which is where I met my lovely girlfriend Therese (whom I coaxed over to Vancouver from her hometown of Söderhamn, Sweden).

Feel free to make a comment to make up for my lack of typing here. Just don’t feel like it today, but I thought this picture looked pretty cool.

Tyler - I watched them put up the supports, but didnt stick around to see what was going to be attached to it. I like the sepia sorta tone you;ve got going on with it :)February 3, 2010 - 19:08

Cole - Thanks eh! Not sure what the whole point of this little art piece is, but it looks cool and I like it! Notice a lot of art popping up everywhere all of a sudden - wonder why ;)February 3, 2010 - 19:13

Random Links | Twitter Love

Mr Hummingbird 604 himself, better known as Raul Pacheco, has an interesting and random insertion in his blogs that I liked: Random linkage up to other blogs. I liked the idea and thought I’d put my Linky-McLink hat on and try it out.
So, here are some random blogs, photos, whatever that are out there...

TylerIngram - NBC didnt entirely steal her post. I think it was mistakenly part of a package they purchased from Vancouver Tourism (??) and forgot to give her credit. Think it's all fixed now though.

Sweden looks like it's treating you well! Definitely a place I'd love to visit!
Like this idea of this post, keep em coming periodically!December 20, 2009 - 17:29

Allan Cole Roberts - Stealing is the wrong word and I stand corrected! Thanks for pointing that out and Raincoaster's post on the subject also clears it up eh.

Sweden is unreal. Definitely a home away from home. This is a great experience so far being here for the holidays and Christmas hasn't even happened yet (apparently that's the big smoke in these here parts!)!

I'm feeling the vibe as well with this type of post. I'll pop one up when the timing feels right. Thanks again for viewing Tyler!!!!!!December 20, 2009 - 18:06

Janis - Thanks for the #behanpower love! I need to do a post like this too. I'm a lazy blogger.December 20, 2009 - 20:12

Allan Cole Roberts - The #behanpower has a 1 ( I think ? ) year old with a website and a Twitter account. 'Nough said....

Get bloggin' sista'! I know I'd be viewing it! Lazy or not fire up something every now and again!

Glad you checked out this lil'old blog though eh!December 20, 2009 - 22:32

raincoaster - From what Rebecca told me, she had an exclusive contract with Tourism Vancouver, one which specifically denied either party the right to repackage and repost the content. So the problem is not just with NBC, which deceptively attempted to hide her credit, but also with Tourism Vancouver, who appear to be in breech of contract. Rebecca is not a vindictive person, however, and she seems content to have her name (in tiny font, unlinked) back on the NBC website.

It is my impression that when she first raised the issue with Tourism Vancouver, they didn't come clean about their part in this. I may be mistaken, but I don't think I am.December 21, 2009 - 01:04

Allan Cole Roberts - Beautifully put Raincoaster!

Vindictive isn't a word I've ever heard associated with Rebecca, and anyone with much between their ears would act the same way as she has in this case.

Why do I have a feeling more stuff like this will happen as the Olympics creep up?

Thanks a lot for explaining eh!!December 21, 2009 - 06:28

Alex Lee Behan - Thanks for the blog love. *blush!December 27, 2009 - 17:50

Cole - No problemo eh! Could have easily made a whole post with just Behan links eh ;) Maybe save that one for another day haha!December 28, 2009 - 16:49

VW Bug Hastings Street

This car is interesting eh? Not really.
The interesting thing about it is where it’s located. It’s located in an empty parking lot across the street from the Army & Navy Store on Hastings Street. If you know where this is, then you probably realize it’s not the rosiest of areas in Vancouver.
But this...

april dawn - volkswagon... that is...October 6, 2009 - 22:09

april dawn - Adolf Hitler and Volkswagen Sitting at a restaurant table in Munich in the summer of 1932, Hitler designed the prototype for what would become the immensely successful Beetle design for Volkswagen (literally, the "car of the people"). In an era where only the most economic elite possessed cars, Hitler believed that all people should be able to own a car and additionally thought that a smart design could allow for reliability, enjoyment, and vacation travel. The name given to the car in 1938 was Kraft durch Freude (KdF-Wagen, literally "strength through joy car"). Hitler gave his design to the head of Daimler-Benz, Jakob Werlin, and stressed its importance. "Take it with you and speak with people who understand more about it than I do. But don't forget it. I want to hear from you soon, about the technical details."October 6, 2009 - 22:11

Cole - Holy eff. Cool April - really that's super interesting. Probably the best shared information this sight has had. If Hitler wasn't the worst human in the history of humans, that'd be way cooler, but nonetheless this is super awesome facts! Thanks hoser!October 6, 2009 - 22:33
